Fun Gundog Classes
Like all working breeds Gundogs have been bred to do a very specific job. Whether we choose to work them or whether they are in a pet home, they will still have all of the natural instincts and behaviours of dogs with a specific job to do. This may mean they are highly driven to sniff and search when out on a walk. Some will want to chase, birds, squirrels or even leaves and shadows. Most have a strong desire to retrieve items. If these needs are not met these dogs can be a challenge in a home environment. Recall can be a problem, instead of retrieving they may want to steal or guard items.
Sharon has lived with and trained gundogs for over 15 years. In 2022 she completed a years teacher training with the Gundog Trainers Academy. As with all of Sharon's training her method use only positive and fun training to help you understand and get the very best from your dog.

Gundog Classes
Gundog classes are great fun for any breed of dog. We will work on recall skills, including introducing a whistle recall & stop whistle. We will play sniffing and searching games, which are a great way of using up energy and tiring their brain. We work on steadiness, 'the ability to be still around distractions'. We introduce retrieving games and learn how to direct the dogs at a distance.

Fun Gundog Puppy
New for 2025!! We are now offering limited Gundog Puppy Courses. These take place outdoors in a secure field. The perfect opportunity to start building connection and training in an environment that your puppy may find distracting.

Along with introducing all of the core training that any puppy needs your will also learn how to avoid some of the challenges that can develop with gundog breeds. We will begin to introduce whistle skills and will introduce retrieving.
